For VING, the milestone is a design story: a Thai product that connects an unusual construction with a real use question. The recognition is not a clinical endorsement or a guarantee of race performance.

02 / The question came from the feet

The founder’s origin story describes painful feet during a marathon, followed by changing into ordinary sandals. Instead of treating that switch as an exception, VING asked why a sandal’s comfort could not be developed into running footwear.

NIRUN grew from that question through design, innovation and function. It brings performance thinking into an open-foot form, rather than simply giving a casual sandal a sporting name.

03 / Movement beyond the finish line

The original story connected running, post-run use and daily life. It also shared customer accounts of long periods on their feet, including attending a concert in Japan. These are wearer stories about comfort, rather than controlled tests.

The award announcement used the line “WORLD CLASS QUALITY. PROUDLY THAI.” It speaks to the ambition to develop an original Thai product and let the work enter a wider design conversation.

At its original publication on 26 December 2025, the article looked ahead to a new NIRUN version in January. That was a forward-looking statement at the time, not a new launch promise today. For available models, use the current collection.

Designed for the run, and the hours around it

The original announcement describes the GFA recognition through design, innovation and practical use. It highlights a sandal intended for real running, support and cushioning, and use before and after a run. The idea reaches people starting out as well as experienced runners.

It also describes users in Japan taking NIRUN into daily life, concerts and long periods of standing. Their accounts of comfort broaden the story beyond a finish line. Performance, post-run comfort and an active everyday life meet in the same product idea.
